If the result list is too large, please consider these hints
- Reduce the number of websites.
- Add more keywords.
- Use quotes for building terms from keywords. For example, the phrase banner image searches for all articles containing both words. However, "banner image" searches for the exact two-word phrase.

A while ago, I had posted about creating a Typelists plugin for MT that would model Typelists in Typepad, I later found out that Tim Appnel was already developing a similar sort of plugin. I had emailed him that day to know where he stood in the scheme of things and got a reply back a few days ago. I've reproduced his reply here with his permission !
I am developing a "TypeLists for MT" app. I got all of the base objects working and tested. I'm also most of the way through the application. What's left is the interface (HTML), testing the application, creating various other lists and documentation. Oh... and a better name. I can't say exactly when I will finish since I have a number of...

2.0b3 (2002.02.23)
• New New Entry and Upload File icons for left nav. • Added troubleshooting section for mt-load.cgi and DataSource errors. • Added Post Status pulldown to import so that "Status" default in blog config can be overriden. Added help links to import options. • Added Javascript validation for every DELETE button that deletes items from a list; if nothing is checked, now gives a JS alert. • HTML-formatting buttons (bold, italic, URL, etc.) will now only show up when using a browser that supports them. • mt-upgrade.cgi now detects if MT databases are already upgraded; if so, it stops, and doesn't try to upgrade again....

We are pleased to announce that the release of Movable Type 3.2 is nearly upon us. Feature development for this version was driven almost entirely by requests from our community of users and, therefore, the changes are tightly focused around the way you use the software. Overall, Movable Type 3.2 makes all the common tasks we perform with Movable Type much more satisfying.
Between now and the time it is released, we will be covering "Our 32 Favorite features in Movable Type 3.2" on the Professional Network weblog. Though we'll only be covering highlights of the new version, this release features over 100 new features and improvements. We're sure all users will find this to...

Blogs as a complement to newspapers
Forbes online picked up an Associated Press story about the eleven blogs being published by the editorial staff of the News & Record in North Carolina.
The broad range of Movable Type-powered blogs have earned high praise from others in the journalism business. As Editor & Publisher said:
"When the paper's overhaul is complete, it may be a model for the sort of 21st century paper that many journalism big thinkers have been talking about, chewing over, and confabbing on for the last few years," wrote the industry-watching magazine Editor & Publisher. "Greensboro will be the first place where this conceptually...

The development community, the independent content community, and especially webloggers, are familiar with Six Apart's Movable Type, a robust and popular publishing tool designed to faciliate the creation of blogs. Lately the community has been buzzing about a soon-to-be-released Six Apart product intended to deliver the power of personal publishing to an even wider, non-expert user base.
What has not been told until now is that TypePad has been designed to generate standards-compliant sites, and that the application itself is built with web standards. A List Apart's publisher and creative director Jeffrey Zeldman caught up with Six Apart's Anil Dash to find out more....

Macromedia released Flash MX in mid-March of 2002, including enhancements to the player and the authoring tool to improve accessibility for people with disabilities.
Admittedly, some areas like screen reader access couldn't possibly get any worse than they were in previous versions of the player: popular screen readers such as JAWS and Window-Eyes ignored Flash content completely. Other features, such as the ability to add captions (which has been available since Flash 5), benefit from improvements Macromedia made to the Flash architecture in this release.
The changes have also automatically improved access to existing Flash content when viewed in the Flash Player 6, but to...

Displaying Comments
Problem
You want to display comments in your weblog.
Solution
Use the template tags prefixed with MTComment.
Discussion
The default templates that ship with Movable Type are comment-ready. These templates are set up so that comments appear on both the popup comment window and the individual archive pages.
All of the various options for moderating and managing comments combine to make the default template code and HTML for comments quite extensive and sophisticated. To get you familiar with how comments can be implemented in MT templates we'll look at some...

We have just released a new plugin, called MT-CategoryCounter. This plugin provides a replacement container for the MTCategories tag, and provides a sorted result list (by number of entries). You can also limit the number of entries returned and restrict the list to children of a single parent category. Enjoy.
Special thanks to Ross for his ideas and support on this plugin.

Update and More Screens
We have to admit that we fell a bit behind with the development of the system. We actually forced ourselves to take a week off in order to deal with the events of the eleventh. While we did come to the conclusion that most things -- including a weblogging content management system -- are a bit trivial, we realized that we needed to go back to the metaphorical mines in order to regain some sort of normalcy in our daily routine.

Behind The Scenes is a new series where we here at Six Apart discuss what tools (software, technology, etc.) we use to do our work.
Greetings and welcome to Day Five of the "Behind The Scenes" series. I'm Walt Dickinson, a Six Apart interface designer and front-end developer, and I'll be taking you on a brief tour through a few of the tools I use here at work on a daily basis.
Aside from the plethora of web browsers, and the ubiquitous copy of Photoshop, that you would expect to find littering the file system of a web designer's computer, I rely on a handful of incredibly useful tools.

I know. Movable Type isn't designed to be a completely dynamic publishing system. If you use dynamic publishing, you risk your site going down because it takes more resources or MySQL isn't running. While valid, I'm less concerned about that last point, as a part of the site that I enjoy is the commenting process. Without MySQL, comments won't happen either. Plus, I love what I can do with Smarty.
So I'm staking my hopes on my site, and more specifically, MySQL, continuing to run, and I'm making most of the site dynamic in nature. The biggest change recently was the introduction of comment pagination - this means if there are a billion comments on an entry, they don't all load at...

• Fixed extra update ping problem--if TrackBack ping URLs were added to the URLs to ping, the update pings would be sent again. No longer. (Phil Ringnalda) • Fixed bug where turning on NoHTMLEntities 1 would cause entities to be lost in entries. • Added a <$MTEntryTrackbackID$> tag. Thanks to Christopher Laco for the patch. • Added a NoCDATA setting to mt.cfg to turn off the CDATA encoding, if you don't like it. • Fixed bug with PostgreSQL conversion, where after running mt-db2sql.cgi, sequences were not set to highest ID....

Weblogs are not just a one-way medium for publishing. With the use of a singular, often conversational voice, enhanced by the loosely coupled nature of the Internet and lightweight syndication formats, weblogs are akin to conversations, regardless of the size and makeup of the audience. "A" writes about something on their mind -- an experience, the news, or a project's status. "B" reads it and expresses their take. "C" finds both posts interesting and notes something A and B has not mentioned and so on.
Not everyone has a weblog (sadly) and not everyone wants to make a post to their weblog for everything...

Dynamic Publishing support for PostgreSQL and SQLite
It's a common refrain for us to talk about Movable Type's wide platform support, but we really are committed to making sure Movable Type's full power is available on the widest variety of platforms. It's an investment that takes a lot of care and attention, but we think it's well worth the effort.
For example, take databases. Movable Type has long supported multiple databases, with MySQL and Berkeley DB being among the most popular. But two mature, popular open-source database technologies that a lot of our users have requested have also part of our platform support for over two years: PostgreSQL and...
